Who you talk to and what to ask

How Our Network Works

Who you talk to

A common myth is that a referral service sends someone out to look at your tree. It does not. Pocketcommittee Tree Service makes the introduction. After that, you talk directly with an independent provider in our network. That provider gives the advice, writes the quote, and does the work.

There are no named staff to meet and no sales rep at your door. Just you and a local provider.

What happens on the call

When you Request a callback, you describe the tree and what worries you. Expect a few simple questions:

  • Where is the tree in relation to the house, wires, or fences?
  • Is it leaning, cracked, or dropping dead limbs?
  • Did a storm cause the problem, or has it been building for a while?
  • Do you want the stump ground out too?

Photos help if the provider asks for them. Availability varies, so ask what the schedule looks like. Many providers can respond quickly when a tree is a hazard.

What to ask a provider

A few good questions make any quote clearer:

  • Is the quote in writing, and what does it include?
  • Is cleanup and hauling part of the price?
  • Is stump grinding included, or priced on its own?
  • Do you carry insurance, and can I see proof?
  • What happens if the job runs longer than planned?

Get the quote written. It protects you and the provider.

You are in control

Another myth says that once you call, you are locked in. You are not. There is no obligation to hire the provider you speak with. Compare a second quote if you like. Take time to think. For an urgent job, like a limb on the roof after a storm, a provider can talk you through safe steps while you wait, such as staying clear of the tree and any wires.

Costs depend on the tree. Typical U.S. prices run from a few hundred dollars for small jobs to several thousand for large or hard-to-reach trees. Written quotes keep surprises down.
